In a world where physical beauty is the
standard we take a close and personal look at queer
body image
in a themed collection of narrative and documentary
shorts.
Our first short asks if two idealistically
different boyfriends, as different as DAVID & GOLIATH,
can survive their friends meddling and own insecurities.
HARD FAT explores the world of ‘Gainers’,
men who purposely gain weight, and their bodily
transformations. Director John Killacky returns
this year with his
prayer of reconciliation for a disabled body in
DREAMING AWAKE.
Fiercely witty and arousing, SEXO is an adrenaline-charged
commentary on pornography and its audiences. HOW
THEY GET US TO SCREW OURSELVES tells us the grim
joke behind
the tobacco industry’s targeted marketing
to the LGBT community. THE BIGGER THE BETTER is
a documentary
that explores the notion of gay male body image
and examines the idea of contemporary male beauty
within
the gay scene. And finally, somewhere in P-town,
our ‘Everyman’ goes
LOOKING FOR MR. RIGHT, but with unexpected results.
