The Italian answer to Thelma and Louise, this directorial
debut of Monica Strambini tells the story of Stella and Lenni,
young and in love, who work together at a gas station. The
station is a happy oasis from a cruel, unsafe world where they
express their love simply, nearly childishly. The girls are
threatened by Lenni’s caustic, bourgeois mother who wants
to destroy their relationship and one night in a heated argument
she is accidentally killed and the girls have to dispose of
the corpse. When the heroines leave their sanctuary and get
out into the night, the road movie begins and they encounter
a world, hostile to their sexuality, a nighttime adventure
which launches a series of car chases, danger and action to
the end.
