You'll Get Over It

Saturday, October 11, 8:30 PM
Cinema 21

Vincent (Julien Baumgartner) is an exceptional high school boy. He gets good grades, has a pretty girlfriend, is a champion on the school’s swim team, enjoys popularity in school and with his friends, and is beloved by his parents. All in all Vincent’s life couldn’t get better. And then he meets meets Benjamin (COME UNDONE’s Jeremie Elkaim) - moody, mysterious, irreverent, and strikingly handsome. Vincent keeps crossing paths with Benjamin until finally they have some time alone. The next day at school his locker is vandalized and spray-painted with the word “fag.” Soon , his idyllic life begins to fall apart as his friends, girlfriend, and family confront him and his teammates begin to ostracize him. What follows is a touching and very real exploration of sexual and self identity as Vincent tries to cope with these issues publically. The film also touches on how the revelation of Vincent’s sexuality affects those who care about him as they try to understand him. YOU'LL GET OVER IT is a universal and wholly original tale of our times that will speak to anyone who has ever struggled with hopes, insecurities, and disappoints on the way to self-determination.
